My name is Frederick Blunt and I am the President of the Barbados Road Tennis Association. Road Tennis is indigenous to Barbados and is fast becoming global. We at the BRTA are mandated to develop road tennis in Barbados (in our schools and in the communities) whether it is being played competitively or socially.

We at the BRTA lost a member of the road tennis fraternity in an accident on Friday 23rd of May 2025. Alexander Fyah Clarke was a very competitive and a very flamboyant player who has been playing for over twenty years. He played most of his road tennis in the Deighton Pa Roach road tennis facility, in Bush Hall, St Michael. He was loved by all and sundry in the fraternity.

As a person he was a genuine and humble human being and the father of five children. We had a very successful tournament in June 2025 in his honor and raised money that was given to his wife Mrs Michelle Clarke to help with his funeral expenses.

We are seeking your sponsorship to have a tournament in his name next month. The Alexander Fyah Clarke B Class tournament. We are therefore seeking five thousand dollars [$5000] to go towards coordinating this tournament.

This tournament will bring together the 32 best B class players in Barbados to be played in the Deighton Pa Roach Facility in Bush Hall, St Michael. It will be played over a period of six nights, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday over two consecutive weeks.
