Our Journey, Goals and what we need to do to get to Trinidad!

The Pelican Rugby Academy was established in September of 2025, in our few months of operation we have increased our athlete membership to 45 registered athletes!
These athletes range from ages 8 to 18 years old. As we are a youth development program we make it our priority to cater to as many ages as possible!
Together with the support of very dedicated parents and the wider rugby community, we have been able to host, in school training sessions at 3 secondary schools, train twice weekly at the Garrison Savannah and facilitate pop ups and training camps across Barbados.
Many of our athletes will get their first opportunity to meet and compete at an international level, travel the region and the world!
Our Mission: Identify and nurture talent from a young age fostering teamwork, discipline, and fitness through structured rugby training.

About Us: We fill a critical gap in Barbados by providing a formalized pathway for skill development and competitive play. What sets us apart is our comprehensive, age-specific programs that have previously only been available in private settings, making elite-level training accessible to all aspiring players on the island.

Getting to Trinidad we need:

Per Player – Approx $1,700.00BBD
Per Team – Approx $ 51,000.00BBD
Team of 30 Persons will be given the opportunity to attend this regional tournament.

This Tournament will provide the perfect level of high intensity rugby competition for our U19 Males and Females, and is crucial to taking them to the next level in their development as athletes and young adults.
We need to maintain our ability to give our athletes the best training as the year progresses, with adequate training equipment, and a safe and well maintained training environment.
